History BTSA
More than 25 years ago BTSA began operations in a small factory near Madrid. Today we are one of the worldwide leading companies of Natural Antioxidants, Natural Vitamin E and Omega 3.
In February, the company BTSA Biotecnologías Aplicadas S.L. is officially created, beginning the same year the production of antioxidants based on natural tocopherols. BTSA launches its main product Tocobiol®, a powerful natural antioxidant for the food industry, but that later began to be marketed in the cosmetic industry. Mixed Tocopherols concentrates are incorporated into our product range, offering customers a new alternative of natural antioxidants. Natural Vitamin E is incorporated as a new line of products to enrich food and cosmetic formulations. Due to continued growth and development of the company, BTSA began the construction of a new production plant in Fuenlabrada (Madrid), improving technical conditions and increasing production capacity. In July, BTSA began its operations in the new plant of Fuenlabrada. Meanwhile, raw materials such as butter and powder milk are included as new product ranges. BTSA launches Ecoflax, an Omega 3 from flaxseed oil rich in lonolenic acid (ALA). BTSA develops Biomega-Tech, an Omega 3 from fish oil with different concentrations of EPA and DHA, due to the growing market demand for these products. BTSA launches Nutrabiol and Bioxan, our trademarks for food and cosmetic industries respectively. Mixed tocopherols and natural vitamin E begin to be marketed under these brands. Due to the sustained growth of the company BTSA began the construction of a new factory in Tecnoalcalá (Alcala de Henares, Madrid), with higher production capacity and laboratory services. In January, production is moved to the new facilities in Tecnoalcalá and in summer of that year the whole company began working in the new office. BTSA obtains the ISO FSSC 22000 Certification, which guarantees food safety throughout the production chain. A new sales office is opened in Mexico due to the significant growth of demand in the American countries and to the positive business projections. In addition, a trade agreement with the Indian company ADI Finechem is signed. BTSA opens its new sales offices in Chicago, Illinois (United States), to serve the growing demand of the North American market.
